Annual Biting Fly Infestation

Hi All

I haven't been to the track since 2007, and I vaguely remember reading somewhere that a solution (drainign their breeding grounds, or some such) might be found to the biting flies which infest the track every May and June. Did this happen, or should I expect them to be showing up in a few weeks?

They're there already? Don't they only show up around mid-May?

No, they are not there now, but they still come every year, I think late may or june and stay until the first heat wave.
